Azerbaijani banker joins BAFT Future Leaders Program

The selection of participants for the BAFT Future Leaders Program, which is annually implemented by the Banking Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT), a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, has been completed. Farid Samedov, Head of the Payment Tribe at Kapital Bank, the only member of the organization from Azerbaijan and the region, successfully passed the selection process and was eligible to participate in the next year's program.

The BAFT Future Leaders Program is organized to support the identification and development of the next generation of leadership in transaction banking. BAFT cooperates with 280 financial institutions and non-banking organizations from 60 countries, which allows taking into account geographical diversity in the selection process and attracting professionals with different experience to the program.

Candidates for the program are talents from around the world who deliver innovative approaches in their industry. The program objectives include providing future leaders exposure to current transaction banking industry leaders, creating a pipeline of talent that will contribute to industry issues, and etc. Program participants will arrange in small working teams and engage in a group project to solve current industry related challenges. Working groups will receive guidance and mentorship by BAFT Board Members and heads of global banks.

Farid Samedov has been working at Kapital Bank since 2015. As a Payment Tribe Leader, he manages the development of innovative payment instruments and systems, as well as the implementation of new solutions in the field of digitalization of banking services.
