With the support of Birbank, Vafa Musayeva raised the Azerbaijani flag on the summit of Everest

Azerbaijani mountaineer Vafa Musayeva has achieved a historic milestone by reaching the summit of Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. One of her key supporters on this extraordinary journey was Birbank.

Standing at an altitude of 8,848 meters, Mount Everest is located on the border between Nepal and China, within the Himalayan mountain range. Climbing Everest is considered one of the world’s most challenging feats due to its geographical complexity. Extreme weather conditions, temperatures dropping to -40°C, lack of oxygen, strong winds, and life-threatening risks make this ascent physically and mentally demanding. Summiting Everest requires not only strength and stamina but also unwavering determination, psychological resilience, and years of dedicated preparation.

“I had been dreaming of conquering Everest for eight years. But for the past two years, I’ve been preparing very seriously for this goal,” Musayeva said upon her return to Baku. “Despite all the difficulties, I managed to achieve it.”

Vafa Musayeva emphasized the vital role Birbank played in her journey to the summit: “The Birbank team kept in touch with me every day, constantly motivating me. I truly felt their support throughout. With so much belief and backing behind me, I climbed forward for Azerbaijan,” she noted.

She recalled the emotional moment she reached the top of the world: “When I got to the summit, I found myself instinctively leaning my forehead against Everest, thanking it for accepting me. Mountains are truly sacred places, they must call you and welcome you. I believe in that. Then, I raised our flag to the sky and felt overwhelmed with emotion. The wind and frost were intense, so I couldn’t stay long. But I managed to take a photo and a short video with the flag before heading back down.”

It is worth noting that Birbank actively supports women’s empowerment across various fields, including leadership and entrepreneurship. The Bank considers Vafa Musayeva’s achievement not only a personal triumph but also a shining example of female strength, determination, and national pride.
